Default My Breeding Trap

most commercial breeding traps seems quite small to me . if the female livebearer is claustrophobic , she is defintely going to get stressed out . I've had some nice female platies die on me in the breeding trap so I wondered if I could build one without having to spend too much money . I also wonder if this has been done before ? anyway , I got a 1 foot guppy tank and got some green plastic mat with holes , not only can buy from aquarium , can also get from gardening shop (of course holes must be big enough for frys to swim through ) . I cut some small mineral water bottles to place the mat on and added some stone to hold the mat in place , I guess bigger swordtail females may displace the mat . I also cut some slots in the mineral water bottle so the frys don't get stuck inside the cut bottle . as I plan to fill the water to the top , I will place the guppy tank cover back . at least the female has a bigger place to swim around , or more females . I also plan to put some plants into the tank .

Default Update

success in a way but failure in a way too . maybe the females were stressed out , one died as if frozen in time . the other gave out a lot of stillborns , only 6 alive and 3 don't look so good
