a couple of years ago, i tried check-in my goldfish from Thailand into my luggage, not hand carry. I can't remember which airline but its not budget airline. The staff at the counter refused me to check in. They said its against the rules to bring animals out of the country, and threatened to confiscate it, else i give it away.
In the end, i give away 8 goldfish to the cleaners. I was super depressed then. Finally saw 8 WHITE lionhead goldfish, all fully white. Can't bring a single piece back to Singapore. |

All airline are the same, live fish cannot check in. I always bring fishes back from BBK. I never tell the counter that there are fish inside and just check in like normal. But when the bag arrive Sin, I saw there is a sticky on my bag " custom check ". That means if we bring those not banned fish, is not a problems to bring the fish back. That time a brought back 1 pcs of platinum KM, SB gourami 2 pcs and 5 pcs of fantosa. Last trip on November I bring back few pair of betta but this time never see any sticker on my bag. Hope you can also bring in you love fishes as sometime lfs also cannot buy

I have bring some ranchu twice from BBK recently thru check-in counter, no issue... I still asked the counter to place a sticker on my language "Fragile" to avoid any mishandling, however formality the counter will ask what is inside, just tell them u bought fragile items need to be handle with care.

For sure fish need water......even when handcarry a bottle of drinking water without fish inside also cannot, the customs will ask you to drink finish or they take away.
