In democratic countries, it is for them to prove their innocence. In Singapore, they take legal suit. How do they earn respect this way?

Yes, some accusations are serious, but I don't see how it leads to downfall. If we go further out, take Clinton's affair for example, it almost ruin him, but in the end, it turned out well. (okok let's not pull Yaw's case in as well). What I'm pointing out is, it is up to the individual or even, well known figures (like politicians) to prove their point n innocence. Using the law on a citizen, only sends a sour taste to many. It just goes to show how they want to use power to their advantag.

Definitely, we won't agree. Humans always have different pov. Agree to disagree as mention. We are mature adults

Blogger Alex Au fined S$8,000 for contempt of court
POSTED: 05 Mar 2015 14:02

SINGAPORE: The High Court on Thursday (Mar 5) fined Yawning Bread blogger Alex Au S$8,000 for "scandalising contempt" of the judiciary.

Au, 62, was punished for a blogpost on Oct 5, 2013 in which he decried the "strange calendaring" of hearing dates on a constitutional challenge to Section 377A, which criminalises gay sex between men.

On Thursday, Au apologised to the court and paid the fine, but told reporters that he had instructed his attorneys to file an appeal, according to AFP.

The High Court in January found Au "guilty of scandalising contempt" over the blogpost in question. Justice Belinda Ang found then ruled that Au’s article, 377 Wheels Come Off Supreme Court’s Best Laid Plans, had imputed judicial partiality and impropriety on the part of the Chief Justice, and risked undermining public confidence in the administration of justice in Singapore.

In January, Justice Ang also found the Attorney-General's Chambers had failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt a second charge of scandalising contempt on another post by Au, titled Church Sacks Employee and Sues Government.

Anymore from whites vs citizens?
