Nitrate is the end product of the denitrification process and is a common problem for all ponds/aquarium. Some bros seem to manage to successfully eliminate or reduce it to very low by using bakki showers, trickle/tray filters with denitrifying media, aquatic plants etc. But others had not been so succesfful. Most will control it by WC. Cleaning your filter box regularly (and properly) will also help to remove the bio-waste accumulated there and reduce the nitrate. IMHO, for your set up, better to do small water changes on a regular basis. Feed less for now until your filter matures. Suggest you Google nitrate to understand more as there's no simple way to manage it. |

Bro,
Maybe if you can provide us with more details (e.g. age, size, sex and which farm, etc). And of course a better taken photo to showcase its beauty From this angle, it looks like a pretty garden koi. Me got a showa similar to this pattern too! You know, its difficult to find very nice traditional type of showa p.s. me got many garden kois too! |
