Sorry for the late reply, coz need to buy magnetic glass cleaner to wipe off all the algaes , so can take clearer pictures.

To design & fabricate a genuine set of T5 casing isn't come cheap. so i guess those cheap T5 fixture probably use the existing PL or FL casing to construct, this is no doubt the most cost effective & for the ease of production to the manufacturers. I guess the LFS will be very soon flooded with this kind of T5 fixture, since the respond from the reefers r so good.

If I'm not wrong .. its magnetic ballast. If it flickers when you switch on .. its a magnetic ballast. Those that bought the lights pls verify this.

Just one qns... is it a must to get those T5 reflectors for T5s?
Cos i just got my light set DIyed in to a HOT5 http://www.arofanatics.com/members/l...mynewmodt5set/
Any advice? thanks.

Equip:
2 x 24 watt 10000k Aqua Light tubes
Osram QTFQ eballast
Normal T5 end caps.
A FL light set.
using a silver foil as a reflector. came with the light set.

its not a must .. but it will improve the overall effective reflected light by 30% or more depending the the reflector.

Hmm.. dont think can squeeze the reflectors in.... any ideas on how to improve the reflection apart of getting a reflector? Mirrors?

Can those who used it verify this? A really good ballast would have a warm start when the light is being switch on, in this way the lamp life span will be longer & protect the tube from being blown off.
