I have snails in my shrimps tanks. They help in clearing the algae on the glass. But sometime also depending on how much how often you are feeding the shrimps in there. Plus how much and how long the lights are left on.

For me, I will try not to feed my shrimps too much too often. I will leave the tank for them to go around scavenging for algae or any form of food and also in another way cleaning for you.
