Default Help - 22" Super RED is lossing Buoyancy....

Need some advise from "shifu"
I transferred a Huge SR to a FGT... after 2 days ... I found him with tendency to stay afloat on the top surface...his back is above water surface and getting Sunburned....
He will swim into the depth if you were to approach him but will float at the surface when strangers are not around...
He has been like this for the past weeks ...
What could I do to help him recover,,,,
Your advise is most appreciated !!

Reduce the water level so that it is slightly higher than the back of the aro + warm the water temperature to 30 deg and throw in some Epsom salt.

Do not feed and slowly top up water when you see Aro submerge. Good luck.

Thumbs up

Sudden drop or change in PH might cause the Aro to gasp air and excessive air trapped in the swim bladder which cause the Aro to lost its neutral buoyancy.Epsom salt doesn't help in this case, try to dose 500 gram if salt for every 100 litre water and monitor, if the fish overturned, hold it upright with a partition .

Hello bro ark,

I always thought Epsom salt will help when aro contacted this problem.
