Default Freezing super worms for arowana

Planning to freeze some super worms to feed mynarowanas, is there any bad effect on freezing them? My dad is complaining he' allergic to them even though , if I freeze them will there be any bad effect? I noticed they get dark when frozen and defrosted. Anybody regularly freezing their super worms?

I always do that for my superworms and crickets.
For superworm mainly to gut load them potato/carrot and pellets upon purchasing and freeze them after around 2 days, more to prevent ants or them eating up each others.
Same for the crickets as the males get too nosiy and after freezing, for smaller arowana, you can easily remove the crickets legs by shaking the bottle hardly few time and all the legs will come off.

I feed straight from the freezer but think read somewhere before in this forum, better to let them defrost first.

My previous comm tank was mainly on SW and bf diet ...

Usually bought in bulk of 3-5kg. I like to soak them drawn in fresh tap water , briefly rinse, then air dry them about 5- 10min before pack into small pack of 200-300g and freeze up. Feeding time just take a pack , rinse to quick defrost.

Longest storage was near 2 months in the frezeer .

Practice this method for 2 yrs time, so far didn't encounter any side effect.

You can inject some med/vitamin into the frozen worm before feed, convenience & clean.

But suggested that keep them in a seal container and don't keep too long in the fridge to prevent frozen worm became dry worm.
