Default Caring your CT

hi guys,
like to share my method with those who like to try Cts ...hope it can work for u too...

1.age your water overnight
2. keep yout cts in 1 ft tank @ 7'' water level from tank bottom. for reason, u will add age water every 2 days till the tank is full, then do a 50% water change... u must measure your water ph for the age water before u fill or perform water change....

3. if u change your water daily, your cts will suffer from PH fluctuation everyday and the rays will curl in time....
4. put a piece of coral chip into the water to harden the water and stablise the PH and light KTP water only. .
5. put a piece of floating object for the ct to park to prevent the rays from curling. . .

6. put some salt. .
7. clear all waste everyday many times a day so the water is not polluted. . .
8. flare the fish many times a day but don overflare to prevent the rays from damage. . .

hope the above can work for those who like to try CTs. .

I use it as a checklist when I groom my young V rays black orchid CTs who i got from a good friend for aquarama 2009. . .a month later before the comp all the rays cross with thick rays that it won the GC. . .so I hope this can work for u too.. Good Luck.

Thanks, RickCT for your sharing - must be quite a full time job taking care of CTs.

Can I ask, using this method, how long ( how old the CT) can you manage before they start to go downhill from age. My experience is usually after 6-7 months of age, the rays will not be as neat as compared to a juvenile.

And do the Indo breeders put in all these effort as we have to maintain their CTs? Or do they have it easy cos their water is more suitable?
