Aro station at one corner
Hi all senior
Something happened to my red. I think he got frightened and jumped. My wife told me she heard loud splash sound at night. The next morning I saw it parking at one corner like didn't dare to move. I threw his fav meal worm he doesn't eat. It been two days and he still park there. I had changed 20% of water and add salt. Anything I can/should do.. Sent from my VIE-L29 using Tapatalk |

Bro, keep maintaining good water parameters is definitely a very good.
Suspend feeding temporarily. Would help the aro if you have a night light for the tank during light-off. Can also add black water into the tank to further calm the aro. |

TS, probably your red kena spooked.
Btw, how big is your red? My min min, 6-yr-old red, 25" literally lost half a dozen scales some 7 months ago. I can only guessed that it was spooked. Refused to feed for more than a month. |

Honest, I really don't know. However, once I added an automatic night light to side of its tank, min min looks more calm.
Suddenly, it began to feed after a 2-month fast It was so strong sending a piece of the 5mm thick top glass panel to the bottom of the tank. |

Don't worry too much...mine was spooked by tanning lights, hid under a driftwood for like 3-4 weeks then came out to the tank corner for a few weeks, I kept my tank lights dim and blackwater with Ketapong leaves.
I would hold off on feeding for a few days, mine didn't eat for a week but eventually came out to eat and then hide again. it took about 2 months but she's back swimming around. Don't change your living habits, no need to be extra careful around the tank, let her re-adjust to your life style. Oh, make sure tank top is secure, my aro started jumping during this time. Good Luck! |
