Default Xenotilapia bathyphilus RIP

Feeling pretty lousy today.

Found 1 of my Xenotilapia bathyphilus blus congo on the balcony floor this morning.

Bought a pair from CF during the last shipment.
Was told they bought in only 3 pairs.

They were a very loving pair, always swmming together.

Think I lost the male because its has more prominent blue on the lip & head.

Now left with a lonely female.

Contemplating whether to sell this loner or to get another mate for her.

Looks very much like this fellow:

Lets hope Jason (CF) bring in some more next shipment.

Indeed they are very fun to watch. Taking sand in & spitting them out of the month again as they look for food on the sand bed.

Does not encounter any problem with the fish jumping for the last month since acquiring them.

A nice fish died, & $$$ down the drain like that.

They are housed in a 2ft together with a trio of Brevis sunspot & 2 calvus black.
Ya, I know 2ft is a bit cramp for all, but they co-exist pretty well till ....

The calvus never bother the other 2 species, they have their rocks at 1 corner & are always hiding.

The Brevis have their shells on the other corner.

The Xeno. have the bare patch of sand bed in the middle, swimming to the 2 corners of the tank frequently.

The tank is well covered with perspex, more to prevent the calvus jumping than the Xeno.

Wow that muz be a powerful leap from ur xeno, even the plastic covering also can't prevent it from jumping out.
