No worries about rolling the eggs around as long as we are able to get the eggs out from the nest quickly. If however the eggs were left in the nest untouched for several days and the embryo has already begin developing, that might cause a problem. It is fine to handle the eggs within the first day of them being laid.

I got several requests already about adoption and purchase, however, since this is considered an endangered species, I am not sure how best to proceed. I can only keep the first 2 hatchlings but I won't be able to keep the rest since they can grow quite large especially for females which can easily reach 30+ cm length wise...

Suppose I let people adopt them for free...then I would get request from everyone including those looking for freebies and couldn't care less on how to take care of them. Should I charge a price for them, then I might get into trouble of "trading" an endangered species and AVA might pay me a visit.
If you sell them, some people might try to flip them for a profit. Adoption same case.

These guys can get quite big, can foresee some irresponsible owners releasing them in ponds once they grow big..

maybe you can screen those potential adopters and make sure they got the right equipment for the turtles first?

Yep probably might take that path. I sometime see people buy those baby RES for their children then a few months later put them up for adoption because don't know how to take care or they no longer cute liao..

Wow... Interesting. Maybe can consider donating to the zoo for their new river safari enclosure?

Following 3 videos are taken last Sunday when my female laid another 16 eggs.

Searching for nest spot

Removing the eggs - got interrupted halfway due to rain so stop recording and hurried up on my egg collection.

This is an earlier video taken on the 19th Nov where she laid the 6 eggs which is kind of a small batch which leads to believe it could be from the Oct 26 batch which she did completely finish laying.

Finally a video of the embryo moving within the egg

These 2 pictures show the difference between one egg with embryo developing and one without.

i saw the turtle museum.. i think its really bad there.. better to give some to the zoo, i bet they will lead a better life..

am also sure some of the bros here have big pond which can house them.. maybe you'd like to vet thru their place (instead of having a "fee" which might cause trouble with AVA side)

me myself would love to adopt one but i don't think my place is suitable

Actually the place is not an issue but more the knowledge and interest that matter. I stay in 3 room HDB so shouldn't be difficult to find better environment for them.

Mated or not hard to tell but females will keep having eggs and will need to lay them or else they will develop health issues.

3 noticeable things will alert you if they are ready to lay or not. One is a dramatic decrease in appetite, they will totally stop eating even though they were eating like a pig the day before.

Two will be the female will get restless and will keep swimming around the tank to search for a place to lay eggs. If they do have a place to lay eggs then they will naturally lay them out by themselves without any help from us.

And the 3rd point to note will be this behaviour:

It is obvious from the movement that she wants to lay the eggs so it is the most visible sign you will get.
