There was too much sideways, back passing and the pace was too slow before Newcastle scored. Young was caught out defensively a few times in the first half leaving big gaps on the left. Play only improved after going a goal down.
Pogba made a difference to the team. Good to come back from a goal down and score 4 goals and get 3 points. |

Ibrahimovic: Lions don’t recover like humans
Zlatan Ibrahimovic claims he was never worried about returning to football after appearing off the bench in Manchester United’s 4-1 victory over Newcastle on Saturday. The former Sweden international has recovered at a rate not expected from a 36-year-old and took his place on the bench for the visit of the Magpies. He came on after 77 minutes to a rapturous ovation from Old Trafford and Ibrahimovic was his usual charismatic self in the post-match interview. “This feels special,” Ibrahimovic told BT Sport after the match. “Different day, same quality. I’m not worried at all – I train hard, sacrifice a lot. I play in my head, my knee just needs to follow. “Was I worried about returning? No. Lions don’t recover like humans.” |

2nd to 7th separated by just 4 points ..... and 7th is Burnley
whoever has met Man City has lost to City but taken points off each other looks like a group of One and another group of Six although most will feel Burnley will drop out of this group Burnley hv lost to City but hv beaten Chelsea and draw with Liverpool and Spurs away Spurs hv beaten Liverpool but lost to Chelsea, Utd and Arsenal Liverpool hv lost to Man City and Spurs Beaten Arsenal and Drawn with Utd Chelsea hv lost to City and Burnley but beaten Utd and Spurs and draw with Arsenal Arsenal hv lost to Man City and Liverpool but beaten Spurs and draw with Chelsea Basically the teams from from 2nd to 7th are nullifying each other and at this rate it is going, City could be the earliest crowned champions by March |

Last season, Pogba’s absence was the main reason we drew/lost the games we did - there wasn’t anyone in the United squad who could link the defense and attack as effectively as Pog could.
This season, it’s still the same even with the addition of Matic in midfield. This just goes to show how good of a player Pogba is, he literally runs our midfield. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

EPL games are getting tougher. Not only the top 6teams have a gap of 5pts except the leading 1st spot.
Even the 7th-15th also prove challenging with very close pts. |

I still think our defence is weak with Smalling and Lindelof

At the moment, it should be Bailly and Jones. Smalling not steady at times.
I watched Lindelof against Newcastle. He can't head the ball properly, heading it up into the air instead of forward and also hesitant to head the ball. There was once in the second half where he was marking an opponent and he kicked the ball instead of heading it. His ball control is quite good. Maybe Rojo should play, he was doing quite well until he got injured but his heading and marking of players at freekicks and corners is not good too. |
