Me too, so just grab it , its variant is written on the bag by the supplier but i don't know what's that. Immediately came home check thru Ad Konings books and found the same name, check the fish against the photo in the book..Bingo! Another rare gem found!

Hi all Tangs Sifus, I am a fan of Xeno. Are these wild caught or captive bred fish? I was told CB can't last for two or more generation due to inbreeding or gene crash. True?

My xenos are mainly F1, wild xenos are very expensive and do not ship well, making it even more risky.

Where did you hear that from? Well i personally do not know, but I do not quite understand why xenos would be more affected by inbreeding compared to other cichlids. Some other cichlids are inbred for many generations, they will survive, but they start to get defects and become less appealing.

as far as i know or read about.. inbreeding will only cause the restriction of the gene pool, thus arise of defects as mentioned by bro tangs_rule,whether a physical or colouration defect.by right inbreeding should not affect the lifespan of any animal since that is determined by how well kept it is i think.
