General Prices of CO2 Cylinders and Other Items
Hi guys, I would like to check with you the estimated price range of various CO2 cylinders for Metal and Aluminum tanks, as well as for regulator/solenoid, bubble counter, check valve, splitter, diffuser etc used in a planted tank.
Do pm me if you know of any good lobang in any shop. My purpose of this thread is to give hobbyists including myself an idea of the cost to set up CO2 cylinders in planted tank. For example a shop in NORTH, ESTIMATED price: 5 litres Metal CO2 tank - $85 3.5 litres Metal CO2 tank - $75 2 litres Metal CO2 tank - $65 2.5 litres Aluminium CO2 tank - $80 Normal regulator, Taiwan brand - $20-$30 Normal solenoid, Taiwan brand - $80 - $100 Normal Ceremic diffuser small size - $5 Normal Ceremic diffuser medium size - $8 Normal Ceremic diffuser big size - $10 All inputs are welcomed. Thanks. |

i was very tempted to get the co2 tank myself as i am currently using diy co2 with sugar and yeast. also thinking of getting one for my office tank.
most likely i would be going for the normal regulator and on 24/7, instead of using a solenoid. went to the shop i mentioned above and found that the bigger aluminium tanks were sold. left with the metal ones. thought of getting the 5l one and no need to top up so frequently. |

I am not against researching to prevent being conned but I am not supporting using AF as a platform to find a "cheap bargain" or a spot just to know where is the cheapest LFS.
Using the Buy/sell section and discussions, one can easily infer how much an item roughly costs. Generally it is OK to ask for a range and/or go through PM, but we do not want to state it so clearly how much one item is. We have had issues before when a person quoted this specific price fromthis shop, and then other people saw the post and went over to realize its at a higher price. This is simply because the LFS owner gave the earlier person a discount as he bought alot. There were alot of other mishaps along the way. I appreciate the threadstarter's initiative but I do strongly advice restrain and limit how much information you actually state. Otherwise we will have a price update like HWZ (the shops in HWZ want the prices to be stated). |
