I been attending the All Thai Annual Comp for the past few years. This year is especially special, as it is their 10th Anniversary Annual Comp and entries are expected to be high and quality and competitiveness even higher. Competition is on the 29th November.

The competition is held for many years at a shopping mall near to town side...The Scene Town Shopping Centre...map and direction as above.

The Comp date is Sunday, November 29th. Benching is before 11.00am. The entry fee for Thai quarterly comp is about 300 Baht per fish regardless of classes while for Annual Competition held once a year in November is 400 Baht.

There is no pre registration...all entries are brought to the competition, measured and allocated the class on the spot. Late entries most of the time ended up staying in their plastic bag.

Judges are Japan Nichiran judges and are the same 3 Japanese judges who officiated at last year annual comp....

(1)Master Kageyama (2)Master Kawai and (3)Master Ozawa

There are so some Thai local judges who also judge in conjunction with the Japanese.

Judges usually arrive and have a general perception of the entries by going round all the basins, after which there is a break for lunch and judging start somewhere between 1 to 2 pm. By 4pm, the crowd will gets really excited as all the fishes will be graded by point system and placed either Grade A,B,C or D. Those in the A grade will be again graded to be the front winners and B grade will help fill the top 10 positions. The Comp usually end about 6pm and by the time packing up and going back to hotel is about 10pm.

Just received the latest news from Thailand. During the recently concluded All Japan Ranchu Show which some of the council members of All Thai Ranchu Club attended, Master Takahasi was invited to judge at the annual All Thai Ranchu Show to be held at the end of this month. Master Takahasi accepted the invitation....

So to sum it up, technically there will be 4 Japanese judges for the comp, but Master Kageyama had to withdraw from coming to Thailand as he got some heart problem. There will be one Thai local judge standing shoulder to shoulder with the Japanese and he is Mr Aod Koban...maybe some of the senior players here will remember Aod Koban. Will update if there are anymore news.

Tks for sharing again Richard.

Will be a good learning experience for all us to learn/see how these jap masters judge.

Also, cant wait for those farm visits to the breeders. Will definitely benefit from it.

Just heard the venue is changed to another mall. The new address is

Pesco Town Mall aka Pesto Ramkumhang

New venue is not far from The Scene Town Mall.
