hi guys. just wanna know whats the difference between a T8 light and a T5 light. thanks

There is also a different between Temperature (Kelvin) so I think depending on what you are keeping =)

previously i use T8 now switch to T5, found it is much brighter but also more expensive if u buy the better T5 tube.

T8 is FL, T5 is CFL. The number after the "T" indicates the diameter of the light tube. There's oso T10, T4, T2. But commonly used is T5 as the length is more standard. T10 are more of UV tubes. In T8, a 2FT is 2FT in length but T5 is shorter. Comsumption is oso lower. T5 uses electronic ballast whereas T8 can use conventional types. Kelvin (Temperature/Colour) wise, both T5 and T8 offer a wide range of colours. Pink tube for T5 is very uncommon. Price wise, T5 is much more expensive.
