Thanks for sharing. I believed I also lost my female like that. But the gravel is a very thin layer so I think should be ok.

Bro why don't you balance the slates with another rock/small DW to create a stable shelter space below?
Should be safer for the zebras then

one of the golden rule of breeding pleco: once they start breeding, do not disturb the setup....

Bro Canopy, i've placed my breeder box above the breeding colony to house the fries for now. Would this be considered as a disturbance to the breeding set up? Or should i place the box as far away to them as possible?

There should be sufficient hiding places as each cave has got space on the left and right for the females to hide in. Most of the males should have a cave for itself.

That's true. But I just had to set up this 4 ft tank as it will look nicer and also I cannot cramp all of them in 2 ft tanks.

unless you are sure the pair constantly will breed for you. Else better to leave it alone. The are very pricky fellows...

My working male has been switching around caves rather than stay in his regular cave ever since i harvested the eggs. I was afraid i did something wrong.
