Showcase 2005

Hi Guys

We're creating a little activity that all of us can take part in and enjoy ourselves. A showcase of the month where the most popular arowana picture will be selected and voted by all. There are no prizes but some recognition will be given to the picture selected. This will be in the form of the picture being featured on our front page, a little insignia, icon awarded to the member (this will be below ur username) and 50 rep points.

There'll be certain guidelines on the submission but essentially there are no rules. There'll be no separate category. Whether you use a professional camera or a ordinary digital camera, every picture will be on the same playing field. You can photoshop your picture, change your Green coloration to Red, anything you like that you think will get your picture selected.

All we ask is either the picture or the arowana has to belong to you and not plagiarised from elsewhere.

Each member will be limited to one entry per month. Please load only one picture for this showcase. Each member will be limited to one submission entry in the "Submission for showcase" gallery up to the 15th of the month.The picture should not exceed 640 X 640 pixels. Your gallery title/name should include your user nick and showcase 2005 for us to know this is an entry.
Example : Beerman Showcase 2005

After the pictures are selected for voting, there will be no further editing of the picture.

This is not a photography competition. The best photograph may not win. This is also not an arowana competition. The best arowana may not win. It's just having some fun. A spontaneous picture badly taken may just capture the public's hearts and votes. The voting results will be final.

The procedure will run in this manner.

Submission of all entries, you should upload your picture into the " submission for showcase" gallery. Deadline will be the 15th of each month. Rolling submission.

Admin and mods will select maximum 10 entries, these 10 entries will be uploaded to one of the moderator's gallery where there'll be no further editing.

Public voting will start on the 18th of each month, running for 10 days and the winner will be the one that has the most votes.

The winner will be featured in the beginning of the month on the front page.

yes and choose the " submission for showcase " instead of the "Arowana" Gallery

In your case, title your photo as Mewmender, Showcase 2005 and load it onto the submission for showcase gallery

One photo in one gallery, each month
so choose your best pictures

the reason why we do this is to give everyone a chance to participate.
some members , like our photography guy, Benny ... his pictures are so good if he submits 10, we probably feel all his pics should be selected and tat'll give others no chance

when the pictures are up, it'll be a public voting ... so it can go any way, its the members call which picture they like best that month

another question, so after the submission date the picture will automatically moved to a mod's gallery and tt we can delete tt folder frm our gallery aft tt date?

so those who participate cannot vote rite? or??
