Dear members,

Here's a brief summary of the guidelines
- Each member is limited to one entry per month. If you submit more than one folder, or multiple pictures in one folder, we will just randomly take one.
- The principal subject is arowanas, though you can include its tank mates in the photograph.
- The arowana in the submission should either be 1) currently or previously owned by you. 2) photographed by yourself. Any entry that satisfies at least 1 of these 2 conditions qualifies.
- The closing date for your submissions is the 15th of each month. Entries after that will be considered rolling submissions for the next month's Showcase.
- Previous Showcase winners are welcomed to enter again.
- The Moderators will short list the 10 finalists for that month, and public voting will begin on the 18th of that month right through to the end of the month.
- The entry that receives the most votes wins. And the results are final.

What's in it for the winners.
- The member who submitted the winning entry will receive 50 reputation pts.
- The members who submitted the top 3 entries will receive a badge of recognition under their user ID as below:

This is not a photography competition. The best photograph may not win. This is also not an arowana competition. The best arowana may not win. It's just having some fun. A spontaneous picture badly taken may just capture the public's hearts and votes. The voting results will be final.

To further encourage all members to abide by the principals of fair play, we have decided to penalise members who:

1. use multiple nicks to cast votes on any entry, be it for his/ her personal entry or a friend’s entry,

2. solicit votes specifically for his/ her personal entry, be it by sending mass private messages, or through other mediums of communication,

who in so doing, artificially raise the absolute number of votes that entry might otherwise receive.

Any member found guilty of any of the above, will have his reps reset to 0 or 10 rep points, whichever that will result in a lower rep, deducted from his total rep pts.

Examples:

If an offender has 100 rep pts, we will reset to 0

If an offender has 5 rep pts, we will deduct 10 of his rep pts, and he will then have –5 rep pts.

The photograph entry in question that has been the recipient of such votes will be disqualified.

This ruling is implemented with immediate effect, and applies for all subsequent Showcase polls.
