Default T5 lightings

Any bros using T5 lightings for 522 tank? Planning to use 2 tubes, 39W 8500k each. Will it be sufficient?

Actually 2 feet depth shouldn't be an issue. Are you planning to plant your tank too?

If not, then it's more than sufficient. But if you are going to plant, then perhaps 1 more tube may be slightly better.

Just fishes ony. The one I'm looking only comes in 2,4,6. Not 3 tubes type.

Then 2 tubes should suffice. Otherwise, you'll have algae problems with more tubes if you don't have plants.

Thanks. I only concern with the brightness. I have try 4 T8, bright but not that intense. Algae should not be an issue. Nothing much for them to live on except lights.

I think bright enough is quite subjective, I am using my old 2X21w pink T5 for my 5X2X2, nice and cosy, if u want to see, call me 96924203

Thanks for your offer. When I mean bright, it means bright enough to take nice pics.

Try flash, not nice due to reflection. I'm already having 4 T8 with individual switches. When all are on, it simply doesn't look natural. I like MH but not the heat n power consumsion. T5 should be a good balance. If kiasu, I will go for 4 T5 but the price difference as compare to 2 T5 is double which is equivalent to an OR6500 retail price. Any nice shop that allows me to bring back home to test before buying?

I'm using a 4' x 54W T5 HO daylight tube for most of my tanks. Those 39W probably not HO series T5?
