Suitable Chiller
Hi guys, am planning to buy a chiller for my 4ft tank. I planned to have at least 5W/gallon of light, if not 3W/gallon of lights. Which brand is less noisy and priced reasonably? Can anyone recommend a suitable capacity of the chiller too? Thanks.

Get a 1/2 HP chiller to fulfill the need. You may also consider getting a external temp probe.
Some info for you.. HC-500A 200~1200L 1/2HP R134a 220~240V(110~120V) 1200~3000L/H 50Hz(60Hz) 22kg 2.4A(4.4A) 475×360×490mm Link. http://www.hailea.com/e-hailea/product1/HC-500A.htm Last edited by peanut8787; 27-03-2012 at 10:18 AM. |

But am in 4ft which had only about 75 gallon of water. Isn't 1/10 hp chiller like hs 150 good enough?

1/10 hp chiller will most likely be more suitable for a 2 feet tank, 3 feet max.
People tend to shop for 1 step higher up in the hp so that the chiller do not need to work too hard to bring down water temperature. |
