firstly, we share your loss and may your long time fish friend RIP.
secondly, her gills do look whitish. could be an allergic reaction to the tap water. my take is that, nowadays in SG, anti-chlorine is not enough, need anti-chloramine as well. Especially with NE mixed into the tap water, they may be a sudden surge of high levels of chloramine AND chlorine just at the moment of NE addition... I could be wrong, but i'll err on the safe side and overdose on anti-chlorines and anti-chloramines... |

1) The death is trigger by the ammonia spike caused by her own slime coat shedding
2) Her slime coast shedding is caused by illness, by live feeders, mostly. |

Most family captive bred arowanas or fishes can "tahan" tap water, esp kept for 7 years. Unless u dem unlucky that day of water change.
If arowanas are to die due to wc, it will normally happens on the same day on the wc. |
