ARRRGGHH My Arowana!!
I thought I would never have to post here. But I guess I have to after all. My Australian Arowana, which I've had for almost 2 years(was about 14 inches), passed away today. I am not sure about why it died.
This morning at 7 AM I noticed that its fins were torn and it's right gills was scraped. Part of its face was scraped too. I figured that it must of happened when I was sleeping because the arowana looked fine last night. Well anyway, my brother and my mom both told me that they heard my arowana jumping a lot last night. The temperature is at 75-78 F and the water seems fine. So I decided to leave for school and when I come back, I would deal with the problem. When I came back home, I noticed my arowana was dead. It looked like it was dead for about 2-3 hours because there was slime/fungus starting to appear on it. The fish wasn't floating. It was at the bottom of the tank with its body in an arched/bent position. The only conclusion I can think of is that it died from the shock of jumping and hitting the lid too hard. |

hey
Naw, I didn't check the water parameters. But I assume that everything is fine because all my other fish are fine. I use the same water with my piranhas too.
