Default Question regarding Armatus.

Hi Bro.. I'm wondering how big can a Armatus grow to? Are they fierce & can they be commed with Doradoes, ITs, Rays & Arowanas?
I saw a nice one earlier today but don't know whether I should buy it..

Thank you Bro.

Cheers mate..!!

[Got the above enquiry from a fellow hobbyist. I've no experience with Armatus, any experienced hobbyist can help with the response?]

Can comm but this breed will not thrive in captive and will mysteriously pass on with unknown reason at some stages. Will not last like your other fishes you mentioned.

Default Question regarding Armatus.

Mine last leh... 5 years I think have.

U have a point... a little more figidty... timid... and perhaps more stress... so die from stress. Primary cause in aquarium kept scenario.

So... dun buy lah. Haha...

In captivity it can reach 2ft in size...in the wild or more spacious environment can get even bigger in size

Aggressiveness can introduce if only ur tankmates same size or bigger then the armatus....beware always ctaches its food from below

I find that african tiger fish more skittish than armatus. Occasionally have to pick up their fallen teeth. Sometimes I do noticed my other comm fish had punctured hole on their body lol, so the culprit is very obvious haha.

I've kept once b4 till abt 14" and then passed on.
I find tat these fella looks fierce, maybe due to the awesome looking teeths but actually they are quite "gentle".
Likewise my current 10" Gatf, aso looks fierce but alway being chase ard by my smaller 7" ff.
Looks sometimes can be deceiving
