Diet are mainly Fresh market prawns..cut and degutted
also Dry pellets.
NO feeders
No left over food beyond 30min.. all will be scoop up.
Waste and shit will be siphon out and water top up daily
Meal Freq: Once a Day.

Bro, you may have overstocked the 533.

Scale thing is always the water in its tank.

so you meant to say I can only keep 1 in my 533?
actually my tanks isn't overstock.
water parameter is decent esp with the regular change of water


anyway I wish to find out if any one have this problem before.
and possible issue.. and cure..

increase the frequency and volume of water change. looks like due to poor water conditions. check your ammonium, nitrite and nitrate.

the fish in the picture don't look like a XB.

Know a brother here who used to have the same chip scales problem on his sumo xb.. Almost 50% chipped.. His issue, too much wc.. After cutting down, slowly gets better, as in not chipping anymore. Agreed that the pictures doesn't look xb..

the freq of water change and volume of water change have been pretty the same over the years.. water test is done every month and parameter never went haywire.. so those ammo, nitrite and nitrate is always within the safe zone.
the scale issue came about last yr Aug till now. i have been doing minor ops and remove those affected scale every now and then. its only affecting the this particular fish .
