For FRs with a center pipe, you just remove the cover completely and use a masking or scotch tape over the pipe before pouring the required amount of media into the unit.

Affter that, just remove the tape.

The center pipe for the Resun FBF1000 cannot be removed. I assumed that the phosban reactor 150 can?

I alway thought that the center pipe is glued to the cover.

The Good FR is getting better with the new packaging and slight facelift changes.

Here are the PRO and Cons:

PROs:
1) It has remove the thumb-screw (Some bros, here will like it )
2) Standard come with elbow in-let and out-let.
3) Still the solid valve include (whew!)
4) Better instruction manual and packaging.

CONs:
1) No long come with phosban media
2) Price remain the same (If you compare previous model with FREE Media)

Overall, it is still one of the best affordable, easy to "wash and clean" FR
around (If you own/use a FR before, you will know what I meant)

Agreed with Bro Wlchew that the current version of the PhosBan is much better than the previous version.

No more screws to unscrew when changing the media especially for the activated carbon which I am doing on a monthly basis.

Definitely a good buy for less than S$90 ....
