Just an update of 1 of my tanganyikans peaceful com tank >>



Total inhabitants >>

1) Leptosommas 12 pcs
2) Nigripinnis 5 pcs
3) Macrops 12 pcs
4) Calvus 2 pcs
5) Compressiceps 8 pcs
6) Ochrogeny 1pc
7) Petricolas 8 pcs
8) Daffodils 3 pcs
9) Dickfeldi 1 pc
10) Gombe 3 pcs
11) Leleupi 1 pc

Total = 56 pcs

Any comments welcome... thanks!

Wow. Nice, clean and neat setup. Amazing how clean the tank when it is so populated.

i like how u setup the pump elevated on the rock slab. Does sand goes in often?

Thanks for the kind words bud!

To be perfectly honest, there will have problems on my OHF.....as it is elevated NOT high enough, and even if I were to make it higher, every now and then there will be fine sand getting into the pump/OHF because of the characters of the fishes i.e. sandshifters/cichlids as well as the fine sand. IMHO, the ideal filtration should be using a canister filter with those black sponge wool covering the inlet.

bro you can try getting those round sponge cover for canister,
cut into half and wrap around your pump.
tighten with a black cable tie... should prevent lesser sand from going in.

That's a good idea. Just need to suck out the sand residue on the wool from time to time.

You meant wrap wool around my pump...not canister? Thought of that before but may not like the look of it, thanks for the suggestion bud.

not wool.. thick sponge like this which i took from the Internet
cut half and wrap the pump.

if ugly... just turn the pump arnd lor
so you will see the back of the pump when looking at the tank hahaha
