Which cooling fan is silent?
I have recently set up a 2ft planted and I'm using a cooling fan that has 4 small units of rotors... but I find the noise level disturbing. Can someone advise what kind of cooling fan has the least noise?
Thanks |

You can try disabling 2 of the fans, because fans work on the principle of water eavaporation (water cools as it evaporates). There is a limit to how fast evaporation can occur, so having more fans doesn't mean more cooling.
You can also try DIY-ing your own using PC fans: http://www.petfrd.com/forum/articles...rticle&artid=6 |

All the fan with normal rotating blades are all the same..noisy.
Only this type of special fan based on air-con blade design is silent. The name: Mr Aqua Tornado fan However be prepared to pay more for it. Last edited by Kensk; 30-10-2007 at 02:08 PM. |

But now I know chiller cost much more to buy and maintain. |

This fan should cost only around S$45.
The Wattage is only 9W. Last time I got mine from Petmart. You can also try Clementi Florist. I also saw it at Sam's Pet Marine Parade. |
