Like what the name suggests, its for livestock to seek refuge.
Its basically just another tank. We usually incorporate it into the sump. I've seen a hang-on refugium before somewhere on reefcentral forums. Usually, we grow macroalgae in there for nutrient export. We can also incorporate a DSB/Plenum in there to further aid in no3 control. |
