Are black arowanas harder to keep than silvers?
I'm going to be buying a 18" black arowana. I've heard that they are more difficult to care for in that:
1. They are finnicky eaters. 2. More easily frightened. How true are these claims in comparison to silvers. I currently have a silver that is 18" and will eat most any food, but prefers MP. On occassion it gets frightened, but usually dives down rather than jump up. Also, how does one overcome these challenges with blacks if these are in fact true problems. Any black aro owners care to share their experience with them? Thanks! |

Used to have a silver/black comm a few yrs back...
The growth rate of the blacks that i had was much slower as compared the the silvers and also they are much more fussy in terms of food and more reactive in change of water condition... at least that was wat i observed lah... that time had 3 black 4 silver from young, kept from about 3 plus inch... but that was really quite a few yrs back... |

personally feel that the black aro very finicky eater also. Their digestive system seems works slow also.
I just lost a black aro last week due to massive WC. |

of cos i am afraid silver n black fights.. however it will look very nice on a comm with black silve.r. so tempting. let the black stays for a week and i will go scout for 4inch silver |
