Do kois eat Godfish eyes ?
I was recently told by a friend that throwing in GFs into koi ponds will be bad for GFs bcos their eyes will inadvertently be eaten by the kois... Any bros with experience to share ?

i've been wanted to try placing my goldfish into the koi pond as well but am still afraid of doing so as the kois are much bigger then the goldfish... but i guess if you feed the koi well... it shouldnt eat the eyes of the goldfish...

My big goldfish eat my smaller goldfish eye during feeding time. Saw it with my own eye. Though not intentionally, it accidentally suck off the smaller fish's eye during feeding frenzy.

Hi Bros,
I saw it with my own eye and confirm it does happen depend on the size and type of goldfishes. Especially slow-swimmer like bubble eye, ranchu, dragon eye and tikus will suffer this fate. Others like ruykin and oranda still ok as they swim faster away during chase by kois. |

I guess if the goldfish is too small. Koi can eat the whole goldfish and not only eyes

I think not only eyes, the goldfish could get hurt elsewhere too as kois are too rough for goldfishes.. Think the eye is just happen to be eaten when the kois rush for food
