Mine used to chew plastics when it's young strangely enough when the first time it chew on a electrical wire it was the last time it chew on anything besides food which is almost 3-4 years ago. And the fgt set up been around for about 2-3 years now and not a single wire nor plastic is chewed. I guess it should be safe to say it's fine not to worry.
