Thanks for your feedback! Certainly worth considering for the looks alone.

hi TS, that depend on prode reading tolerance (+-%).
and also u wont want your tank water below ph4 or abover ph10.

ph meter (aquarium type) dont have or dont need to calibrate ph4 / ph10 i suppose.

Are this the types that link to co2 solenoid and will on/off the co2 to achieve the desired ph?

All probes are built differently and have different voltage at a specific pH value.

If your pH meter only allows pH7.00 calibration, it will assume that each pH1.00 is 59mV.

Better pH meter allow at least 2 point or even 3 point calibration. By knowing the exact mV at pH4,7 and 10. The pH meter can calculate more accurately rather than assume 59mV/pH.

For aquaria use, single point calibration is good enough. You just need a rough measurement, precise measurements are not required.

Wow now that's what I call technical knowledge! Being a technical guy from other fields as well, I really appreciate such details as I can get very anal into things. Thank you very much and apologies if anyone is offended by my inquisitive nature. I'm still deciding between Dymax and the cheapo eBay one as I have a specific limited space I would want to mount it. Pinpoint is definately better... if only their monitor is much smaller...

$155 is enough for you to buy a pinpoint ph meter already with pH7.000 and pH10.000/pH4.000 calibration liquid with an add of a green note its enough for you to buy a ac to dc adapter for the pinpoint pH meter.

Bro petermax and PNT Guy, thanks for the headsup. Really appreciate it. You guys pointed out my exact dilemma. A smarter and practical choice would have been Pinpoint. I'll give it a serious consideration over my need to mount it on the front of my small tank canopy.
