My silver aro used to jump too. What I did was ensure his food intake is regular (don't skip) and have a 10% water change, thereafter he seems to stabilize. Of course there may be other reasons...

High chance that it's spooked. Give it some time to get use to the environment. For me, I feed less, so it will be hungry and more bold.

Agree with Bro Shaunwcl....U should lower your water level, cover up your tank, off the lights and add blackwater to calm your aro down...

hi there

1. bro, what i will do if the aro gets jumpy.
2. switch tank light 24/7.
3. add black water, lower water level.
4. avoid sudden movements near its tank.
5. of course, caution others' "itchy" fingers poking at its tank.

i believe there are different ways to handle jumpy aros:
1) lower water, off lights, add blackwater
2) on lights 24/7
i go for 2nd option cos i dislike adding blackwater.

as for TS's problem:
- pH 6.9 is good
- where is the placement of the tank?
- how long has aro been introduced to the tank?
- any other tankmates?
