OMG this is so sad!

if the big doitsu chagoi is 60++cm...

Don't be disheartened, start anew slowly bro.

Possible to improvise something to the bottom drain when you restart??

what a tragic disaster! Painful lesson, but moving forward, yr pond needs more safeguards.

This happened once to my camp pond last time, somebody released the water (duno by accident or sabotage), but luckily there is a sump hole at a corner that cannot be drained and all the koi squeeze in there and survived.

Perhaps you can put in a 6-8" pipe and seal it dead, so that the pond cannot drain fully from that hole. If u need to release 100% water, can it be via filter side to release?

Quite hard for a fish to knock a stand pipe down unless u didnt plug in tight. Cld it be sabotage? Cos that was my first thought.

Anyway bro, if u need any help at all, let me know.
