cause always i cover the spawning tank with newspaper and peep only after one or two days... decided best to give them privacy.

Bro, will covering newspaper stimulate the spawning or it got to do with the water parameters as well, my pH is around 6.7, could this be the cause?

dun think cover newspaper has any effect.......perfect spawnin usually depends on the fish itself.....

Actually we shud not always use nature as an excuse. I would rather save the spawn than let them think they are in nature. Afterall, i guess they are pretty evolved to meet the domestic standards..right? Just on the light for the eggs and fries till the fries are free swimming. For me, at night i past a yellow piece of paper at the tank ligt..so that it wud not be too stressing on the father. You would have to on for roughly 4-5 days...

but jus to clarify
nothing nature or domestic about this anyway

i think bubblenest serves as more of a gathering place for the father
to consolidate the fries for easy access and caring

most the time after fries hatch i remove the father
that causes alot to fall off the nest
but still most survive

for me at night let them sleep la
the fries fall off wun "drown" one
lol... imagine nextime u become father, ur wife on the light on u 24hour
ask u take care baby
hahahahaha.... stress lah...will kisiao one if no enuff sleep
