I think the deteriorating condition at our beloved club is caused by those "deadwoods" which the club is wanting to remove. They have "managed" to create a toxic situation with players. So the sooner these "outcasts" are removed, the better.
Imagine Matic openly saying that Ole must take the blame if we do not compete for top 4 position (since he was excluded from the starting line-up. Or that Rojo blamed Ole for his failure to sign for Everton at the 11th hour, and yet had very limited time playing. AS taking shots at the club for his drop in form after the loan deal. Herrera (the only player whom I considered should never had left the club) blaming the Board for their delay in renewing his contract. Now PP and DDG not willing to sign extension contracts, leading to Chong commenting that he may not commit his future with the club when asked about his extension deal. So far, we have yet to hear from CS and MD after their loan deal and sales respectively. |

There is a real problem with the management team which have trickled down effects to the football team.
Problem cannot be solved in a day or month. Hopefully we can sort out the management team before we talk about improvement to the team on the field. |

The problems at United are due to Woody as he appointed the managers and SAF for selecting one of the worst, dour and negative managers Moyes. The sooner a Director of Football is appointed the better. Woody should just concentrate on what he is good at, commercial stuff. Unfortunately, Woody buys players with a commercial angle in mind on selling the player commercially besides his playing ability, e.g. Pogba.
You don't need all top players, just those who will want to play for United and give their all. During SAF's time, the team has some average players but when they played they give their all. Those who had big egos (Ince) and others who showed a lack of effort or who thought they had already achieved were sold. So if any player thinks he wants to go somewhere else, it's pointless keeping him. No player or manager or director is bigger than the club. Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is now Spain's first choice keeper having played 4 matches in a row with De Gea on the bench. Last edited by KeeHuat; 06-09-2019 at 12:33 PM. |

Fine points. But when your CEO and owners are not in line, your hands are tied

Smalling: "I can definitely see a longer term future in Italy. It all happened very quickly. Still have to get up to speed with the training, see how this season goes and then we will see." [BBC]

Ole had been right in getting rid of Fellaini, Valencia, Darmain and Lukaku.
For Smalling, Ole preferred to uprgrade Tuanzebe for the 3rd choice centreback. One of the academy players...well done!! For Herrera, though it is sad to see him leave, but probably Ole was correct in not giving in to the high wage demand for contract extension. Similarly, DDG is asking for high wage demand that is stalling the extension contract. All these toxic atmosphere brought in by Woody when he thought he had a deal of a lifetime when we took on Sanchez. Now, we are paying Inter 150K weekly for Sanchez NOT playing!!! Hope by next transfer window we see Matic, Rojo and Young shipped out too. For the rebuild to happen and succeed, Ole had included the likes of Greenwood, Chong and Gomez into the first team. This is well and good, but he needs to trust them enough to give them more playing time to improve instead of relying on players like Matic and Lingard. I am certainly for Ole to succeed at OT cos changing managers is not the solution, but changing the mindset of the Glazers certainly would, which is a BIG ASK |

If Sanchez just played and scored based on his performances for Arsenal, then no one would make too many comments on his high salary. But because he underperformed, so the high salary became an issue. Sadly, this move failed.
Similarly, Mkhitaryan's move to Arsenal in exchange for Sanchez also crashed. He also was paid well at Arsenal. The Sanchez and Mkhitaryan moves were failures for both United and Arsenal. |

A real pity cos both were considered well above average footballers and yet they failed miserably, esp AS |

Sometimes, buying players for the team is hit and run. How many players SAF bought and did not make it. Also alot. But better players adapt and grow. Not all players are in this mould |
