try to find a easy way to remove nitrate
just something to share ,by helping my friend to find a easy way to remove nitrate ,as he is just lazy to fine tune his Coil Denitrator as a result it get choke .so as try to help him find a better n easy , i've shut down my Coil Denitrator for 3 day and try to use my Biosand filter to test whether can it remove nitrate n i found out yes it can but at same time it also create ammonia and nitrite .for right now it is running @ 5sec 1 drop .previously it running full load whice i have test and the result is the same with my tank . for 2 week water have not change .normally i change water about 2wk to 1mth

yeah please. i also try many different models in the past. and now i run lfs and still no easy solution
for saltwater biopellet is excellent solution. but these don't work for freshwater. i like to introduce many many many plants, but this still just help not the solution. i think reactor with anaerobic zone can work very well though. thx for sharing |

Best and most economical way to remove Nitrate is to do water change. Good for the fishes in term of growth as u remove anti growth homones also. Not worth trying all sort of products, wc is still the best. If the set up is outdoor, then other wise, heavy planting is a good option.

k1 media wont remove nitrate.. they will convert your ammonia to nitrite then to nitrate.. for reducing nitrate u will need to run a media under very low flow (150 - 200l/hr) and in places with low oxygen level.

yes k1 is only my main filteration that y i have a coil denitrator is my main nitrate remover
