Default Do pregnant motoros pant very hard prior to delivery?

Just discovered my mama motoro panting harder than usual today. all other rays in the same tank are breathing perfectly normal.

Just wondering , is the heavy panting a sign of impending delivery?

Choncabullosa and Ray2828 are the top guns with extensive breeding experience to know the answer, ask them.
On a related note, the earlier was certainly breathing heavily when his Henlei was nearing birth just when he was leaving to Japan. Fortunately, Mama ray, Papa ray and the owner is fine and proud parents of 2 pups.
BTW, no need to "chiong or chope" the pups, all gone liow

Sorry bro, Dont have the benefit of seeing rays give birth in fish tank. I only know that the rays have given birth when i see pups in the pond.

to begin with, firstly your mama ray must be pregnant and at the final stage.meaning at least coming to third month after making love.
assuming the first sentence is true, and if u are very attentive, the moment u find your female stop eating, swimming non stop, panting, then she should give birth within the next few hours
cheers

Bro, any body here with experience of rays giving birth in tank? Do they do that only at night?

thanks for the insight bro. For now, her hump is unusually big and i see some movements here and there so am quite confident that shes expecting. not 100% though. Will continue to monitor her. Cheers
