Ray keeping

Hi all,

I took a hiatus in fish keeping 2 years ago as i was going overseas for my studies. now i'm back in singapore. Temptation is difficult to resist.

just one question, any differences in using black/blue or white oyama base for ray keeping?

gonna get a new tank for rays and im deciding on the base color. will the base colour makes a differences?

Keeping black rays.
I seen alot of bros keeping in white base tanks. Any reasons?
Now I'm thinking what base colour for my tank.

from my understanding, white base enhance the spots better while black base will tend to shrink the spots. For grooming purposes white or clear base is preferred.

When they are adults, some place them in black tanks as development of spots cease. They look more beautiful in black or blue tanks. When young, for development, white tank probably better.

so if i am to buy a juvenile around 5-7 inches i should get a blue or white base tank instead of black?

I would suggest white base for better development. Personally tried both bases n can say got diff.

Blue should be fine with rays i think some people use black base with BDs also look stunning...what impt is the ray healthy and eats alot...the base color everything can change with use of acrylic if you find it not optimal for you rays

u mean putting acrylic board in the tank itself bro shalabin?

so i can actually paste black oyama but during development stage of the ray, i place a white arcylic board in the tank as the base?

arcylic safe to be submerged in water for long duration without and chemical corrosion or anything?
