Big water volume for it to stay in and lot of feeding. Minor water change daily as well. And yes still can grow. Ever tried keeping a 4 years old green which measure 14-15 inches and after a year plus to 2 grow to a good size of 22 inches under normal keeping.

Red
I kept a red in a 5x2.5x2.5ft tank for around 4yrs.
It reaches from 24" to 28" then sold it off. |
