Default new on the forums and questions

Hello. I'm new to this forum.
been keeping betta's since 2011..but haven't been successful...hopefully i can figure out what i'm doing wrong here.

have a few question.
Is it okay to age water in water bottles? with the cap on

Do we really need a heater?

are water test kits necessary?

anyone know where i can purchase brine shrimp in small quantities? i only have 3 fish(1 betta and 2 others species) and 4 bottom feeders so i cannot buy the big packets C328 sells, even the small bags of tubi flex worms Wu Hu aquarium at tiong sell are too much for me..i have no idea how to keep them alive for more then one day and a bit scared to feed tubiflex because a lot of my female fish last time died after eating them.

i never kept my tubi for more then a day last time.

last time with small packet from Wu hu.
i just put them in the worm cone and put the cone in my tank and let my fish eat as and when they please, then one day my females started dropping like flies over the next few days from various amount of illnesses, Dropsy and swim bladder.

so i dun feed tubi any more and i can't really keep them in my room as my brother will complain about the smell.
yes, how do you wash the dead ones away?

right now i'm considering feeding brine shrimp, but the shops always sell too much for me and i only have 1 betta and 2 other fish with 4 bottom feeders
