Smile How long can Goldfish survive without food?

Hi,

I'll be out of town for a week. Will be using an auto fish feeder during my absence.

Just wondering...how long can my goldfish live without food? (Eg. Fish Feeder malfunction, etc.)

Thanks for advice

one week no problem...if you feeding using feeder, not too much otherwise if water quality turns bad, fish may get sick. i rather they go hungry than get sick due to poor water quality.

No food for a week still can make it. Your auto feeder malfunction and empty all food into the tank you fish confirm die. hehehhee

if its just a week do not take the risk and use a auto feeder unless u really confident on the quality of your equipment.

they do if you have in your tank. actually good. when I'm out for a couple of days, I don't feed any food and the algae becomes botak after my return.

Wink

Thank you everyone for your inputs

I did a 50% water change before leaving home and I used an auto pond feeder (made in China somemore )!!

The auto pond feeder is huge and is actually for bigger fish like koi (thus, bigger pellets) and hence, I have to DIY and did a little bit of modification to the feeding drum so that the feeder won't dispense all the food at one go and kill my fish...heheheh.

It did its job decently alright as I arrived home with my fish all "intact"
