Yup usually they r call spotted gar, different gar will have different spot some big n small .Best u get 3-4 piece , after they grow u choose which nicer the rest can sell off .This is wat I did , to get my expectation of the gar.

Just to find out, is it all gar like to stay on top of water level?

Any way to make them stay at the bottom?

Gars are lazy species,they either stay at the top or bot,no difference,prob bot have fierce species?

My tropical gar will stay on top when looking for food,after fed will sink to the bottom.

In the way I feel that gar stay at the bottom looks nicer.

turn the light off will do the trick. my gars swim everywhere unless hunting for food
