I think it all depends on size of koi vs goldfish & if they are well fed. My large kois are living well with the goldfish since young. Though kois overtake the goldfish in sizes, but they are all ok.

If you feed koi well, they wont mistaken the goldfish's eyes for food. HAha! dun worry bro.

I have kept a koi with my GFs for almost 2 yrs now. The koi is now more than double the size of my GFs, but doesn't attack them at all.

I definitely agree.. I think the person who told me the experience probably threw the fish into a pond and fed them only once a wk.. Just my hunch!
