Ammonia can be produce by decayed fish food. Don waste money to buy la. Just be patience. If you are planted tank, get some ada ammozonia soil.
Ceramic ring seldom need to replace unless they breakdown. Never heard of any kakis changing except upgrading/change from brand a to b. Personally, i change when my water parameters changed. The last i could remember, 5 years back? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

U can get ammonium bicarbonate from baking supplies shops.
Can also use old filter wool from established fish tanks to kick start the cycling. Ceramic rings, i usually rinse them with fish tank water once a year to remove the gunk/sludge on the surface. Some will breakdown due to brittleness of the material. Which i then top up with new ones.

Another way is to use urine.
Yes our urine. Make sure you drink enough water first to get the colourless one. I have done that before. |
