these are beginner's grade fish. to most, these are consider feeder fish.

Please let me know how I can improve the growth?
Bro, I feel that you're doing a good job in the grooming, thumbs up!

Why do you think that to most, these are consider feeder fish?
If that is really what you think, why will you keep feeders?

The growth on your fish show that you've put lots of effort in grooming them. This effort alone is already the key to improvement.

There is a limit to how far these fish will go due to their defects and that is the main reason I suppose they are culls.

Bro, you don't need to see their side and bottom to know that they're sick la!

I am not sure whether did I groom wrongly or the growth is limited to their gene or grade?

The reason why I said these are consider feeder is because these are far fetched from what your guys posted here.

Pardon me. I wasn't talking about their future growth and definitely not your grooming ways. I actually meant their quality like crooked tails and etc that cannot be improved.

If you know that these are of low quality, why do you choose to get them?
I always believe that we are restricted of space and should go for the worthy to keep ones!

That is the reason why breeders cull their fish. It might sound cruel but that's the way the game goes.

So to say, you are willing to help the breeder get rid of what he should destroy? Bro, I have new spawn. Started culling from the second day after hatching. Different stage different price!
Ok, jokes aside, being a fish hobbyist for long, you should be able to roughly gauge how well you can groom base on your past effort right? Trust me, without TLC, many old hand will also destroy the best quality fish.
The problem now is, what will be your next approach for the better quality ones and how to rid these fellows?

Bro, this one a bit difficult to answer. After more than 10 years into Ranchu, I yet found my own answer! Still learning, still trying to improve. Fail, learn from mistake and move on....
The best is yet to be.
