Default Is the term "BD" that important ? ....

Chanced upon my recent "average quality p13" sales where my customer ask me if my fish is a "BD" ?

As this term of "BD" hasn't got a definite answer till now, I decide to promote my rays as p13 instead.

Hence ,I explained to him that I sell only p13 instead... Depending on its quality, my p13 will command different price base on its outlook. Hopefully buyer will buy what they see rather than what the name is.. He then decided to bag 1 home for slightly over S$1k.

During our conversation , was told that he had recently acquire a pair from elsewhere (a Lfs) too

Somehow or the other, the next day he text me and explain that his Lfs friend state that my pup doesn't look pure "bd" and told him that it has Henlei gene because it's "grey" colour and not black, something I was amazed to hear..

I explained that I didn't want to term my ray is "bd" for fear of this kind of statement and emphasis that he should buy what he likes and not what others said . Moreover , many had mislead the definition of bd and had confuse the ray community somehow or the other, I personally think so.

A "bd-Henlei" n "bd-sp" can be sold at higher price than normal leohenlei and pdrsp.

So with his permission, I will attach the picture of his recent purchase for forumers here to contribute your view. His so called "bd " must be fully black is something I would not agree..

Hence, just to share these pic for ease of his concern that he has been "short-changed" on buying a leo-Henlei as what his Lfs friend has perceived.

Top piece ( my average p13), bottom piece his recent purchase pup.

Another pc of his pup.

Please feel free to comment .

So , please take note that I have no "BD" for sale anymore , just p13 of various quality .

Thanks for reading.

Simon

Honestly speaking i am a noob in rays, but definitely i choose one that have whiter spots. Also the pups will get darker as they grow, i refer to the "black" part.

Btw the top pc is my choice buy if i can afford.

Very good decision Simon.

All are just P13. Unless a DNA test can prove that BDs are diffferent.

Your pups are very nice.

Agree with Simon and support his use of P13. Nothing to be afraid of if you have the quality and only buy from the reputable breeders.

I strongly believe that the "BD" term is purely for branding sake. And we all know that in the current world, branding plays a huge impact on consumers.

However, I still like to say buyers should always go with the "pay for what you feel comfortable" feeling, because only thru that they can feel more secure and comfortable at the end of the day.

Thanks for listening to me cooking soup.

Nowadays got so many types of diamonds in the market until dunno what is what liao ... got black diamond, white diamond, brown diamond n grey diamond....

Best is to see the ray for yourself, buy based on what u like n at the price u are comfortable with so that there will be no regrets later on....
