I have Atman 107 too for my 422 tank. Flow is very fast. Some say slower fow rate is better for BB development and for the nitrogen cycle to be effective. true? (sorry dont think to hijack but similar topic right)

[Pump]

Pump is something that I wouldn't skimp on ,,, your entire investment (fish stock) is dependent on this pump ... pump failure == no air supply == game over ... unless you have additional air pumps which probably is gonna total up to a decent pump.

For pumps .. I'll go for at least 4000 L/H for 5x2x2.5:
- at least Eheim (not exactly energy efficient from watts per litre perspective)
- or Aquabee

** Above are available from most established LFS.
** Beyond L/H ... you might want to pay attention to size of pipe that's returning back to your tank. Different pump size, Different Outlet Size.

From top to bottom and highly dependent on what you're keeping as tankmates ... Its ideal to understand concepts rather than monkey see monkey do.
- Fine wool > remove mechanical waste ... probably change to japan wool if you're keeping plecos
- Bio Sponge (Black) > secondary mechanical waste & Secondary biodegradation ..
- Cockle Shells > Secondary biodegradation & PH Buffer
- BioHome > Primary biodegradation
